ContatoGeneral Purpose
Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot plastic injection molding machines
Principle Accountabilities
- Process the molds safely and efficiently according to the production schedule to ensure that a good quality part is being produced.
- Troubleshoot and make process adjustments.
- Perform material/color changes efficiently according to the production schedule. Maintaining material/color levels on each machine so there is no stopping of production.
- Verifying that each machine is producing the correct part, with the correct color and material.
- Ensuring quality parts are manufactured following quality practices, including but not limited to the visual inspection of products.
- Document process settings and trends Develop and amend procedures
- Maintaining production requirements safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Report all accidents or near misses.
- Adheres to all environmental and quality standards.
- Any other tasks that may be necessary to meet the production schedule in a safe and efficient manner.

Position Differentiation by Level
Level 1 - Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00
Education/Experience:
- 5-7 years of injection molding experience or equivalent education
- Supervisory experience
Knowledge/Skills/Duties:
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Basic computer skills (Excel and Word)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and work procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and employees of organization
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- RJG training
Scope/Impact:
- Impacts operations of immediate work group
- Executes and may provide input to functional processes or technologies
- Assists in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area
- Carries out functional initiatives
- Exercises independent judgment within generally defined procedures and policies for selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Provides input for team decisions
- Decisions may affect sections/sub-functions
- Normally receives no instruction
- Identifies skills needed within team and works with team to achieve them
Level 2 - Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00
Education/Experience:
- 7+ years of injection molding experience or equivalent education
- Supervisory experience
Knowledge/Skills/Duties:
- Same as level 1
- Ability to identify trends
- Develop and amend procedures
- RJG training
- Impacts immediate operations of the team or functional area
- Executes and may provide input to functional processes or technologies
- Assists in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area
- Demonstrates commitment to implement initiatives
- Same as level 1
- Exercises independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to achieve objectives
- May make decisions absent management supervision using broad guidelines
Supervision/Leadership:
- Same as level 1
Level 3 - Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00
Education/Experience:
- 10+ years of injection molding experience or equivalent education
- Supervisory experience
- Same as level 2
- RJG training
- Six Sigma green belt
- Master molder certification
Scope/Impact:
- Impacts the near-term operational success of the company
- Enhances and provides input to functional processes or technologies
- Assists in achieving section/sub-function objectives for a functional area
- Demonstrates capability in leading a major initiative that may impact multiple sites/ customers
Decision Making/Discretion:
- Same as level 2
Supervision/Leadership:
- Same as level 1
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly move through the manufacturing departments. The atmosphere is climatic controlled.
