ContatoGeneral Purpose
The Production Manager will organize and oversee the manufacturing of goods in the production area and will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output.
Principle Accountabilities
- Develop and oversee Injection Molding personnel shift production goals, coordinating all production activities and operations.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Assist production staff members with troubleshooting processing issues.
- Support the Quality Dept. on 5Y and 8D requirements.
- Monitor production staff and quotas to ensure that all team members follow established procedures and have necessary tools to meet expected production goals.
- Provide production data to management and analyze production performance data.
- Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and personnel requirements, implementing change as necessary.
- Partner with Human Resources to develop and document new employee training outline and schedule.
- Resource planning to ensure that adequate staffing is available to reduce downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Conduct weekly quality audit of the production floor, documenting GMP, documentation, and quality inspections.
- Track and enforce Injection Molding personnel adherence to company policies.
- Partner with the Quality Dept. to ensure that good, quality parts are being produced in Injection Molding to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.
- Ensure compliance with ISO and SQF certifications.
- Conduct annual reviews for staff performance.
- Supervise and evaluate performance of Injection Molding production personnel.
- Maintain production requirements safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Report all accidents or near misses.
- Adheres to all environmental and quality standards.
- Any other tasks that may be necessary to meet the production schedule in a safe and efficient manner.
Position Differentiation by Level
Level 1 - Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in related field or 5-7 years of experience in production management or operations experience
- Management experience
- Complete understanding of injection molding and related equipment
- Experience with lean manufacturing, process flow, and continuous improvement
Knowledge/Skills/Duties:
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Basic computer skills (Excel and Word)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and work procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and employees of organization
Level 2 - Pay Range: $90,001 - $105,000
Education/Experience:
- Same as level 1
- 7+ years of injection molding experience or equivalent education
Knowledge/Skills/Duties:
- Same as level 1
- Ability to identify trends
- Develop and amend procedures
Level 3 - Pay Range: $105,001 - $130,000
Education/Experience:
- Same as level 1
- 10+ years of injection molding experience or equivalent education
Knowledge/Skills/Duties:
- Same as level 2
