Weener Plastic Packaging Group (WPPG) has expanded its production activities in the Netherlands. The facility in Ede – Plasticum Netherlands, part of WPPG since June 2013 – has almost doubled its operations with the annexation of its 4,400m2 neighbour building. A newly built corridor connects the two buildings, resulting in a total space of 11,000m2.

This additional space has allowed the manufacturing area in the original building to be increased and the capacity to be expanded. The new building houses a professional product test centre for dispensing closures. The expansion of the WPPG production facility supports the growing business of the company with the facility in Ede specialized in the development and manufacturing of standard and custom dispensing (valve) closures.

Ben Mennink, Managing Director of Plasticum Netherlands said:

"This is an important milestone in the development of Plasticum Netherlands. The expansion is in line with our strategy to grow our value added Caps and Closures portfolio. Demand for innovative dispensing solutions continues to increase as consumers focus on convenience and functionality of packaging."

Plasticum is the leading supplier of innovative and cost effective caps and closures for personal care, food and home care products. Since the first launch of the MaxiDose dispensing closures in 2007, Plasticum has become the European market leader for this category of closure. The integration of Plasticum into the Weener Plastic Packaging Group has further strengthened its position and offered access to a global network with large international companies.
