Today, all around the world the SDG-flag is raised. With this flag campaign, organizations, municipalities, companies, civil society organizations and schools demonstrate their participation in the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) related global movement for a better world.

WP is proud and excited to take part in this initiative. The SDGs are part of the UN Global Compact, of which WP has become a signatory partner. This underlines the importance we attach to human rights, and our commitment to making the UN Global Compact and its principles part of our company's strategy, culture and day-to-day operations. With this in mind, WP organizes a variety of activities, ranging from a program communicating our Employee Core Values, to events interacting with local communities.

On the morning of the 23th, Esther van Workum, Group HR Director, and Lenny Ellenkamp, Director Sustainability, jointly raised the flag at the WP headquarters in Ede, The Netherlands. Lenny comments: "Many of WP's sustainability policies and actions are linked to the intention of the SDGs." Esther adds: "For instance, WP is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for each employee and applicant. We aim to create a working environment in which every individual can apply their skills in the best possible way."
